Job description

Company is looking to expand its team with a talented Cloud Operations Engineer.

They develop and operate the next generation products that serve millions of requests daily powering search, navigation, targeting and more for our customers’ e-commerce sites. In this challenging role you will ensure optimal operation of our mission-critical cloud infrastructure to provide outstanding service delivery to our customers. You will work with and help refine state of the art cloud environment based on Amazon Web Services technology and in-house developed management tools. Our team of best in class consultants and engineers and ever growing number of international customers provide a unique opportunity to gain deep insights in e-commerce, digital marketing and a variety of related technologies.
The role requires flexibility on working hours to ensure global coverage and co-ordination of Cloud Operations activities, and knowledge transfer across the Customer Support organization. You also must be willing to participate in the 24x7 on-call rotations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, prioritize, escalate and ensure resolution of service requests and incidents (including alerts from the monitoring systems);
  • Analyze the alerts in-depth and continuously improve our monitoring systems to decrease the necessity of reactive (human) intervention;
  • Maintain a good balance between the quality of the service and the cost of operating;
  • Observe and safeguard the service availability and performance for customers;
  • Empower cooperation between clients, technical consultants and R&D to mitigate arising issues and make sure steps are taken towards permanent resolution.

Job requirements

  • University degree in an ICT field;

  • Good analytical skills;

  • Advanced Linux/Unix skills;

  • Bash scripting skills;

  • Good understanding of internet technologies such as HTTP, DNS, load-balancing;

  • Practical data processing and analyzing experience (e.g., application logs, graphs);

  • Relevant experience in a software or services company;

  • Good communication skills both written and verbal. Good knowledge of English;

  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS EC2), SaaS/Cloud Ops;

  • General understanding of a programming language;

  • Affinity with e-commerce, web analytics and/or psychology;

  • Relevant technical support experience.
